Micro Teaching is a new concept which got developed in recent times and holds a lot of significance in getting the teacher’s skills enhanced and keeping them up to date with the current developments. As we know that teaching is a very complex process, we use micro teaching to systematically simplify the process. Micro teaching can take help of various teaching aids as well.
Micro teaching was first adopted by Dwight W. Allen and his co-workers at Stanford University, USA, while in India the first attempt was made in 1974 to spread micro teaching. Micro Teaching is a technique in which a teacher is trained for learning teaching skills. In this technique, the teacher is put in a real-life situation wherein their skills are developed and they tend to get a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
"As part of my BEd curriculum, I chose to focus on two key micro-teaching skills: questioning in Semester 1 and introducing in Semester 2. For my micro-teaching sessions, I selected the topics 'Business' and 'Social Responsibility', respectively. Through these sessions, I was able to enhance my skills in questioning and introduction, gaining valuable experience and confidence in my teaching abilities."
