HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
"As part of the B.Ed curriculum at Kerala University, I conducted two health education classes and two physical education classes for plus one Humanities students during my third-semester teaching practice. These classes aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a lifetime of physical activity and wellness. Health and physical education are essential components of a comprehensive education, fostering a balanced lifestyle. Notably, I emphasized the practice of yoga, which harmonizes physical and mental discipline to achieve a tranquil state of body and mind, demonstrating its profound impact on overall well-being."
"For my physical education classes, I selected two essential asanas from Surya Namaskar: 'Tadasana: Palm Tree Pose' and 'Arthakriya Chakrasana: Half waist wheel pose'. These asanas promote flexibility, balance, and overall physical well-being.
In health education, I focused on two vital topics: 'Personal Hygiene' and 'Balanced Diet'. The personal hygiene class empowered students to recognize the significance of daily hygiene practices, while the balanced diet class educated them on the importance of healthy eating habits and identifying nutritious food options to avoid unhealthy choices.
To reinforce the concept of a balanced diet, I presented a comprehensive chart on Nutrition, illustrating the vital vitamins required for various body parts and the corresponding deficiency diseases. This visual aid enabled students to grasp the direct impact of nutrition on overall health and well-being."
