Community Living Programme

    

      5 DAY COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP

The community Living Camp is a joint camp of Student- Teachers and their Teacher Educators in a convenient location, keeping certain formalities and following a pre/well planned time table. Learning to live together co-operatively, participation in programmes for development of personal and social skills, to develop student-teacher ’social-relational sensibilities and effective communication skills, practicing democratic living, providing chances for division of labour, community work etc. are the major outcomes expected of the programme

We the Mount Tabor Training College students arranged community living camp from 5 th June 2024 to 10 th June 2024 at Kozhanchery maramon retreat centre Pathanamthitta. The camp was inaugurated by Honorable Agriculture Minister Shri P Prasad. The Name of the camp was Kaathal and theme was embrace the essence. 

For me it was a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed a lot and spent more leisure time with my friends and teachers. The food provided at camp centre was delicious and I loved it. 

The first day of the camp began with the name revealing by Rosamma teacher, the Principal. The theme for the day was Bhoomika - Resounding the Resilience. After the name reveal students were divided into 4 groups. The inauguration of the Community Living Programme was conducted by Hon. Agriculture Minister P Prasad. The day was celebrated in association with Environment Day. 

On Day 2, 6th June, we went to the camp centre - Maramon Retreat Centre, Kozhencherry. After the lunch, there was an ice-breaking session with games. A small class was conducted and the evening was spent on a cricket match. The day ended with the screening of the film Aavesam. 

On 7th June, after the nature walk there was a zumba session. There was a craft session, games and small talk by students. In the afternoon a class was taken by Mr. Anish George and the evening was spent for a Cricket match, Vadam Vali and a campfire.

On the 8th the students went to Thenmala on a trip

On 10th, the valedictory function was conducted. It was marked by camp reflection, magazine release and prize distribution.
